Tom
& Saundra Snyder, Designer Glass Mosaics
We
place great emphasis on our (CUSTOM DESIGN) work. On a variety
of projects Saundra Snyder, our Design Coordinator, also an
award winning watercolor artist, will produce a drawing or
watercolor rendering. You may also see Saundra's watercolors
at www.homeportraitsbysaundra.com.Our
fused glass works involve layering of hand-cut glass
pieces and firing in a kiln. Depending upon the fusing temperatures
(ranging from 1300 to 1500 degrees), the resulting glass product
either has a smooth surface or a raised surface with all the
edges rounded. Our mosaic glass works are made by adhering
tiny, hand-cut glass tiles to a substrate (such as a vase,
Hardiboard, Wedi board, wood) and finishing with grout to
fill in the gaps. In either case, the finished works are truly
attention getting as their appearance changes with different
angles of vision and amounts and direction of light.
We
sell either direct or through galleries and showrooms around
the country (see list in Bio section).
Most of our work is by commission. We enjoy involving the
client in the process. Each ofour glass works is highly customized
to meet the client's decorating themes and color schemes -
truly making the end product one-of-a-kind. We have a wide
array of glass colors and textures from which to choose.
We
pride ourselves on our growing reputation to produce quality,
uniquely designed glass works and deliver them in a timely
manner. We continue to explore additional product applications
and many of our ideas come from our clients.
Please
visit the galleries to see the many works for sale and examples
of award winning works. Contact
us to arrange commissioned backsplashes, accent tiles, medallions,
furniture, fireplace surrounds, sconces, art works, etc. to
complement your home or office decor. We
also offer workshops both locally in Charlotte, North Carolina
and in Lansing, Michigan through Delphi
Glass. To inquire about available mosaic workshops please
